Shaun the Sheep movie review

Director: Mark Burton & Richard Starzak

Running time: 85 minutes

Score: 8/10

I have never ever watched Shaun the sheep, which personally I think is diabolical seen as I grew up watching CBBC and CBeebies. So when it came to the choice on what to watch on a Friday night in with the boyfriend that was an obvious choice. A choice well made in my opinion. I also now want to adopt a baby sheep! So cute!!

I spent the full 85 minutes having a giggle and every now and an occasional great big belly laugh! I have to say it’s a great film for an adult like me to enjoy as well as a child (which is the intended audience)

It received a 7.4 rating on IMDB and 99% on rotten tomatoes and In my opinion it falls in between. I really did love this film and it allowed me to let out a little bit of my inner child.

I love how this film has no dialogue in it, yet you can still understand the point of the film. I also love how dark kids films are, there was so many jokes in this film that the intended audience would not understand yet a person of my age would. There’s even a silence of the lambs reference!

All in all I loved this film and had a great time cuddling with my other half whilst watching it 🙂

I give it an 8/10

When you realise your too old…

So last night I went out in town with my boyfriend and a couple of friends to say goodbye to one of the friends who just happened to be moving. (how many times can you say friend in one sentence! ) and as you do, you have pre drinks before you go out and then start in town. Naturally.

Now I don’t go out that often, maybe once a month or a special occasion, but it used to be every Saturday night. I got all glammed up and trudged out whatever the weather to blow what little money I had on empty calories, sweaty atmosphere and shitty music.

We had a couple of drinks is spoons and then made our way to the next pub. I think I had 1 drink in there and then just gave up. It just didn’t appeal to me anymore! I had a good boogie with the girls and then I began to get really tired and fed up (this was around 11 ish) I started thinking maybe I’m just not cut out for this anymore.

By 12 we were in a taxi heading home and we were all saying ‘I can’t wait to get in bed’.  Everybody please bare in mind that I am 19 years old. I was the youngest out and I was also saying that! Ha! It makes me laugh.

I think when you first turn 18 it’s amazing and you want to spend every minute drinking and having fun but it wares off after and while and you just don’t feel it anymore. It’s either that or I’ve grown up! (Eww adults! )

Anyway so I’ve come to realise that I’m too old for a night out! Which is strange because I’m still so young! But I will still go out on occasion because otherwise I’ll be branded a boring sod!

Has anyone else started to feel this way even though your still young!? I hope I’m not the only one!

Pixels movie review!

Title: Pixels
Running time: 106 minutes

Director: Chris Columbus

Score: 7.5/10

Okay, I’m gonna start with the only reason why I went to see the film and that was to see Ashley Benson (Pretty Little Liar actress – my new favourite TV programme) yet I felt her part didn’t give me the PLL satisfaction. But she did look pretty badass with two samurai swords (tbh she could’ve used them to off A!)

I had not seen many adverts for this film or even a trailer, just bits of it, so I only really knew that there was a big PacMan and Ashley Benson. So I didn’t really have an opinion going in, and I came out having had an amazing experience. The film was HILARIOUS! Adam Sandler did an amazing job and I feel like this is the best Happy Madison film I’ve seen (although my favourite film with Sandler is Hotel Transylvania!!!)

The film in a whole is about old arcade games being brought to life by an Alien population and sent to destroy Earth one match at a time! It’s a bit of a weird context for a film but Hey Ho! It worked (can’t really imagine someone pitching it and not sounding crazy!)

Even though the arcade games that were featured are old ones I still recognised most of them, which was great cause I also understood most of the jokes that were put forward. What was even better was that my sister understood them as well! We spent the every minute laughing, it was great!

The cast was actually decent and well known and actually had some chemistry! Which was refreshing seen as the last film I saw was Fantastic Four and we all know what score that got on Rotten Tomatoes!

When Peter Dinklage made his appearance there was two things that could think of. TYRION LANNISTER!! And that he’s actually not that small, either that or Josh Gad is TINY! I love Dinklage’s character, it shows how diverse he is as an actor, the only thing that really grated on me was his stupid accent! It felt like an old man trying to do an American accent but at the same time trying to be down with the kids. It was weird and horrible! (It felt as awkward as when my dad tries to add a foreign accent onto his English)

One actor I didn’t think would be In a film like this is Sean Bean, and to my surprise he did not die! He normally dies in everything! Which again was nice a refreshing.

What did annoy me about this film was the stereotype of England that America has. Apparently we all speak really posh English and speak gobildy gook a lot. But guys! We don’t! We are normal people!

Other than that, it’s a very funny film which all ages could watch and enjoy! In my opinion it deserves more than a 5.5 rating on IMDB because it had everything! Romance, humour, grippy story line, amazing characters, character development and even heart ranching moments!
Do go see this film guys, it’s a great one to watch!

School’s over. What next!

Results day as been and gone and I’m betting there’s millions of people who are in the same position as me!

What is there to do after education ends!

You go through years upon years of education to get to this one crossroad in your life which also sets you up for the rest of your life. Unfortunately for some people (including me) education is wasted. I have found that I don’t want to follow the system that secondary education sets you up for, which means no university for me!

Now, there are many pro’s and con’s to this.

Pro’s being:

– not going to uni allows you to have a break from education

– free from student loan debt which you have to pay back for the rest of your life

– getting a job and actually going somewhere with your life

– not wasting another 3 – 4 years of your life to get a degree and then come out and work in subway!

Con’s being:

– it’s really hard to get a full time job when you havnt got a job

– you have no work experience

– getting a degree sets you aside to other people

– them 2 years you’ve just spent doing A levels now mean nothing and therefore was a complete waste of your life!

Rant alert!

What really annoys me about the whole education system is that they spend 7 years of your life, setting you up for University when school’s should recognise that not all students want to go to uni!

What about the small minute amount of people that don’t want to go! Schools don’t do anything for them people ( me being one of them) we are rejected and forgotten and put aside whilst everyone else is doing UCAS forms. They don’t do anything for us, no CV writing, no help with job prospects or even what job opportunities are out there!

So now I’m stuck in this dead end cycle of job hunting with a poorly set out CV that includes:

– couple of part time jobs

– A week of work experience I attaind in year 11

– And multiple awards with musical instruments!

I have been searching and searching for a job and nothing’s come up. It just would’ve been nice to have a little help along the way!!

Rant over!

Phew! Haha anyway I’m hoping the future holds a nice job (not in subway) with a decent income where I can buy my dream home 🙂

For those who are going to University I hope your results were awesome and you’ve got into your first choice!

Yours truly

I’m back!

When I first started this blog it was to help me get stuff out of my head and onto paper, so to speak, apart from I decided to splash it all over the Internet!

Since then I have come on leaps and bounds with my anxiety and at this moment in time I’m feeling great!

I feel great about my life and where my head is at. I can’t remember the last time I had a full blown panic attack and to me that is a very positive thing. I have wobbles every know and then where I begin to doubt things. But now I tend to think positivly and the anxious feelings go away! Where before I would just let these feelings eat away and I would over think things!

I am finally living in one place which helps tremendously and I have finished school permanently and looking for a full time job. Life is great and I’m looking towards the future.

I know I havnt made many blog posts recently, if at all any, but I’m back from my break and I’m going to start writing some lovely blog post for you all to fill my empty days! (Having no job sucks!)

Anyway hope you are having a lovely summer!

Yours truly
